Helen L. Dietz, NCTM

Helen’s background and experience include a Bachelor of Music Education and Piano degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, more than 40 years providing private piano lessons, and 20 years in the public school system, teaching music to grades K through 5. Helen is a Permanent Professional Certified Teacher of Music from the Music Teachers National Association, and a member of the Raleigh Piano Teachers Association. Helen understands and applies child development principles to the learning of piano. The partnership of parent, teacher and student, make piano lessons a more relaxed learning experience. Parents are part of all practice sessions at home to ensure progress. In turn, the student feels a sense of success that leads to higher self-esteem.

Accepting students, ages 6 through high school, for private piano lessons, beginners through early advanced, who show enthusiasm, musical aptitude and have strong parental support. Students may choose to participate in the local Young Artist Auditions, sponsored by the Raleigh Piano Teachers Association and/or the North Carolina Music Teachers Association’s annual State Auditions. Helen’s students often receive Superior ratings and win or place in these events.

Lessons taught in a home studio featuring a 52” Steinway upright piano. Waiting room for parents and siblings. The studio is located in northeast Raleigh, off of Mitchell Mill Road, in the Neuse Crossing subdivision. Approximately 5 miles north of I-540/Louisburg Rd. I teach at my home at 104 Bridle Trail, Youngsville 27596 and also at 5124-108 Departure Dr, Raleigh 27616. I have a BM in piano from UNC-Greensboro, and a voice minor. I have been teaching for over 26 years. I teach all levels up to college entrance. I have young and older students as well. I teach a classical background, but I also teach students who are not as interested in theory and reading, and wish to study ear training and chord sheets. I teach popular voice as well.


Natalia Selezneva
Private piano lessons at home studio in a nice, safe neighborhood conveniently located near Research Triangle Park and about two miles from Brier Creek Commons Shopping Center in Raleigh. Enthusiastic and experienced piano teacher is currently accepting beginners and advanced students, ages 5 and older. Teaching consists of weekly lessons and includes piano solo and duet repertoire, piano technique, sight-reading, music theory, and performance skills. Recitals are twice a year as well as other opportunities for performance. I majored in piano at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and in 2010 soloed in the Yellow River Concerto with the Chapel Hill Philharmonia and with the NC Symphony, the latter as a winner of their Triangle Talent Search. Since 1996 I have taught all levels and a variety of styles. In addition, I teach beginning accordion. Discount if two or more students in a family per week.
