My degree is in general and choral music education from Michigan State University. I spent 27 years teaching preK-8th grade music mainly in WCPSS, and achieved National Board certification in 2003. In 2017, I opened a private studio focused on teaching voice and beginner-intermediate piano for all ages. I offer recitals twice per year. I love watching my students fulfill their dream of singing or playing piano and I am very adept at doing so. I cover technique, music theory, scales and chords, interpretation, relaxation and a variety of activities to help each student excel. Families are welcome to wait in the same space during the lesson and others in the family who take lessons may practice on the digital piano with headphones, or complete their theory at the table.

Dedicated to the Crafting and Development of Piano Performance in the Comfort of Your Home.
My teaching approach combines kinesthetic and aural abilities. These abilities keep us engaged with music after pieces are learned and memorized. Through the years, I have created a healthy technique that allows me and my students to engage with the piano with no injuries. I believe in creating a hybrid between the goals each student wants to achieve plus a full development of musicianship and healthy technique.
